Linda’s Cupboard Food Bank Share Program
What does one do with their food bank stuff that they don’t need or really like to eat? Donate it for another family and vice versa.
So how you do it is this.
You go to the food bank and they give you three bags of food each month
You open it up and don’t like the taste of this or that, or your allergic to some of it.
So donate it for another family to have (they like it) and your given food in exchange as well so you still eat, but you get to have what you want (including the brand names you enjoy eating instead of say a no name brand you don’t like to eat)
It doesn’t get wasted this way, and everyone gets what they are allowed to have..
INstead of not eating you get foods that you like and enjoy and I want you to not only benefit from this yourself, I want you to have enough to share with a needy neighbour or just having lunch with a friend (this boosts your self esteem and you do not have to be embarrassed about not having food to share with others, when someone comes to visit)
IN fact, many of us dont enjoy a social life. We don’t want people to know we dont have food for ourselves for anything to share.
In our society, we’ve learned to put a kettle on, serve tea or coffee or a cold drink when a pal or neighbor comes over to visit.
Some of us, cannot even feed ourselves, how are we expected to share with another?
Well it’s simple, let them know you’d LIKE to sHARE with them. They can bring a tea bag, a cookie, or you can, if you share your food with more than one person, you can actually get enough for more of you.
An apple can feed 4 people (sliced in 12) feed with muffins, split in half or threes…
Bet you didn’t think like that. A little of this and that is perfect for tea time 🙂
